DevOps Systems Administrator — Platform & Systems Engineering

Bloomington, Indiana · 10+ years automating infrastructure across 1,400+ servers

Highlights

EWA Portal — self-service VM provisioning

Containerized app (Docker, Helm) on IU Kubernetes with GitHub Actions approval workflows and CIS-hardened builds via the vCenter API. 50+ VM builds and 250+ self-service submissions; parallel builds of 10+ servers, up from 1–2.

Microsoft DSC v3 configuration platform

Built from scratch: Azure DevOps pipelines, CMDB-driven role assignment, hourly convergence. ~100 hosts managed today, rolling out to 1,400+; configuration deployment 5–10× faster.

Argo Events deployment automation

Led 70+ step Kubernetes workflow automation that cut website deploys from hours to about 7 minutes.

Monitoring & patching at scale

Grafana/Prometheus alerting (SQL Server Always On paging, CMDB-driven muting), Azure Arc patch automation, and AWX/Ansible automation across 1,400+ Windows servers — 80% less manual work, 99.95% uptime.
